2-year old PJ was immobile and shaking when The Sergei Foundation convinced his owner to surrender him at one of our vet partners on 6/30/16 because of obvious neglect.  The vet took immediate ER action to try and save him and fully diagnose.PJ had maggots in his anus and all feet and has liver damage, he is heartworm positive, and the vet thinks he ingested something toxic.  Our non-profit’s mission is ER vet care for companion pets – we are not a rescue but had to start funding to treat this poor boy not even knowing if it was already too late.

We reached out to NC Forsyth Humane Society to see if they would take him and re-home if he were to survive.  However, they won’t take any heartworm positive pet, so  WE NEED YOUR HELP FOR HEARTWORM TREATMENT.  He has surpassed huge obstacles and today, 7/2, is being taken to a foster home while the vet closes for the holiday weekend. He can walk on his own, eat with assistance, and even sported a smile for today’s picture!  He still has a road of recovery, but we are now very hopeful he is going to live. His final hurdle is to get heartworm treatment so he can find a loving family. Between some of the vet’s complimentary services and The Sergei Foundation’s direct donation, we have covered care so far, but cannot cover this expensive treatment. Please help PJ jump his last hurdle for a chance at love and life.

October 2016 Update:  We reached our $1,000 goal in just a few days to get PJ his treatment in July!  He also was adopted by the hospital manager who attended to him 🙂  Below is a picture of PJ now (October 16, 2016) with his attending veterinarian, Dr. Wilkins.  THANK YOU EVERYONE who helped and donated.  He is one happy boy now, able to love life.
