Sweetie – Helped March 2019

Poor sweetie! But, she’s getting another chance at the use of her leg (vs. amputation). A previous vet’s attempt to splint the leg was not appropriate for healing, and too much time past for a DVM to perform the orthopedic surgery, so Quartet Veterinary Specialty & Emergency Hospital had to re-break the leg and set it properly prior to surgery. She went home yesterday. Praying for quick healing! Happy we could help some with the...

Snowball – Helped Feb. 2019

What a face! Snowball is getting surgery tomorrow (Sat. 2/16) to amputate his leg, which didn’t heal properly from a previous break/splint. His senior-aged parents reached out for help or they would have had to surrender. So happy Oakes Animal Hospital reached out to us for assistance! Gucci – Helped Feb. 2019

This little man of 9-years was listless, not able to stand, and not even holding down water. Dr. Gilyard at Clemmons Veterinary Clinic said he was in bad shape… in kidney failure.  But a couple of days of fluids and meds, and his kidney levels were back to normal! Not sure if he ingested something toxic… but this guy went home happy this week 🙂

Thank you Walkertown Veterinary Hospital for splinting his leg yesterday; we hope since he is still very young and growing, the fracture will heal without surgery. We also got him neutered at the same time from our recent grant for s/n...

Polar – Helped Feb. 2019

The Sergei Foundation is not able to help with heart-worm treatments because that is a preventable situation with veterinary medicine. However, Polar here was tested prior to adoption in Jan. 2018 from an organized rescue organization who had tested him a h/w  negative. The owner religiously obtained preventative medicine, purchased after adoption, from his own veterinarian which we could verify. So, we are able to help Polar get his heartworm treatment! Obviously this owner was doing his best to be a great pet parent! And sometimes false negatives do happen in h/w tests, or it just...

Max – Helped Feb. 2019

Max had a very nasty bite wound from a dog that the owner tried to take in as a stray.  It nearly missed Max’s jugular!  We assisted with our $100 general veterinary care funds to help him get stitched up.
