Tabby is a miracle kitty who was actually pulled in the nick of time from having animal control pick her up, for which her ultimate end would have been eutahnization because of the severity of her injury. A woman found her in her yard, injured badly on her tail from what she assumed was an animal/dog attack. Tabby (named because she is a tabby cat) obviously had a home because she had nail covers – a big no-no for any outside cat! This is why she could not protect herself. The woman who found her wanted to keep her, and that is why The Sergei Foundation jumped in to get her seen by a vet instead of going with animal control (and they were already at the property!). The Sergei Foundation was able to pay for vet care – her tail had to be amputated. However, she is now available for adoption at the Triad SPCA in Greensboro because the original adoption did not go through. This is a very unusual situation since we only work with pets that are already companion animals, but honestly, I have to say this was a miracle and I’m glad we could help! She is so playful, sweet and has a very loud purr 🙂
