Furby was throwing up for a few days and not eating (FYI, this can lead to liver issues/damage so don’t wait to take to the vet). Originally thought to be constipated or have an obstruction, the vet was surprised to find “something” in the X-ray in her esophagus/lung area. The radiograph was sent out for a specialist’s opinion because if it is “megaesophagus” it can possibly be treated/maintained by the owner with on-going medicine. However, the specialist found esophagus strictures and diagnostics, let alone treatment (if it were found to even be treatable), were far beyond our assistance or the owner’s means. Humane euthanization was performed by the vet at the owner’s decision, but we were happy to provide some certainty to the owner to know what was wrong with Furby.
