Elsie – Helped June 2016

Little Elsie here who is just one month old went in for emergency, exploratory surgery. Initial vet exam/Xrays confirmed a hole in her intestines. The vet wasn’t sure if the intestines started coming out but knew it was more than a “simple” hernia, as there was an actual hole. Surgery was just in time! The vet stayed after hours on a Friday until 9:30 p.m. to repair a 4-inch tear! It was touch and go over the weekend and the owners had to keep her warm with heating pads and hand feed.  It was truly a miracle that she survived the weekend, and her vet check on Monday showed her making real progress.  Signs show this girl should be okay. Her name actually means “pledged to God,” and I think she surely has connections 🙂
