Annabelle is a case that we helped through our discretionary funding as this didn’t meet our “companion” criteria, but we just had to help this poor St. Bernard! She was left to die on a chain outside and had chewed off her own tail, was covered in maggots and fleas. Her poor companion dog did not make it. A neighbor pleaded the owner to give Annabelle over to her. She raised all of the funding for Annabelle’s tail amputation and surgery costs herself. The Sergei Foundation helped with follow up care and medicine for this survivor of a girl! So happy she has a second change at life. At 8-years old, she deserves to know what real love is, regardless how long she may have it for.
