Odin is not out of the woods, but we are hopeful. He fractured his seventh vertebrae jumping off of a bed. Initially, it wasn’t seen, and the vet was treating for a back infection. He couldn’t at all and was in severe pain. We contributed towards hospitalization and medicine. After their third Xray showed the vertebrae collapsing, we paid for a neurologist/specialty visit. The owners are choosing to wait this out, as Odin is showing some signs of improvement by standing and short steps, as the specialty surgery is in the thousands of dollars. If the owner decides to obtain surgery, The Sergei Foundation has pledged $1500 from dedicated fundraising efforts for this surgery since this was above and beyond our ability to fund, if the CT scan does not show any further signs of damage from waiting.
