Blackie – Helped July 2014

Look at Blackie’s adorable cast! She is a 3-month old kitten who has a fractured tibia joint near the ankle from an accident where her 5-year old human brother accidentally stepped back on to her.  We hope that splinting of the leg over four weeks will be enough to heal this very difficult, multiple fracture (it is right at the joint leading to the ankle).  The vet thinks that her young age may help her to heal quickly in this way and fuse together enough so that amputation or fusing surgery will not be necessary.
