The Sergei Foundation did all they could for this two-year old boxer. She had eaten a CD case, but it was about a week before. Surprisingly, she showed no outward signs of distress other than not eating. Blood work showed normal, X-rays, although it wouldn’t pick up plastic, didn’t show any abnormal gas patterns, and a barium test still didn’t find anything “emergency” related, although we agreed to do exploratory surgery given the pain in her belly. We are sad to report that as soon as they opened her up, about 1/3 of her bowels were already destroyed; the prognosis was very, very grim even if they were to try to attempt repair. Sadly, Tink crossed the rainbow bridge but we are happy to have been able to help the owner with these efforts.
