Hank – Helped February 2012

Meet Hank, a one year old Pitt Bull. He was not able to keep anything down from either end, and had bloody stools. Originally thought to have Parvo, tests came back negative. Also misdiagnosed as possibly having an intestinal blockage, Hank was getting worse and was on IV to keep his fluids up – he hadn’t eaten for a week. The owner contacted The Sergei Foundation at this point because she ran out of funds to help Hank, who was progressively getting worse. We set her up for a diagnostic evaluation. A stool sample showed a severe case of hook worms and whip worms and was immediately put on meds. The good news is Hank is getting better! He’s now eating and drinking and getting back to his “normal” self little by little. What seems like a simple solution almost cost Hank his life. Thank you to the great folks of AHW!
