Hazel – Helped June 2017

Hazel is doing much better today. We helped her with a vet exam last week as symptoms seemed like parvo or whipworm – both deadly if not treated. She was whipworm positive, which is preventable so we can’t help with treatment, but we did assist with fluids because she was in such dire condition. Reports from the owner today is that she is back to her old self 🙂 Preventative care (heartworm medicine) is SO important! It protects againts deadly worms and should be a monthly practice. Glad you are feeling better, Hazel!

Booker – Helped June 2017

We’re helping Booker here get patella (knee) surgery today. Both knees are bad – the vet says degenerative from birth – but the right knee really needs the surgery and hopefully that will help relieve some of the pressure on the other knee so it can do better as well! Thank you Dr. Wells at Animal Care Clinic of Rural Hall for your expertise and hope the surgery goes...

Emmitt – Helped June 2017

We’re helping Emmitt with funds towards specialty surgery this afternoon to fix a radias fracture (wrist) that re-broke after the initial surgery last December. The specialist said surgery had a very good prognosis now that he is old enough (before the growth plate grew as he was just 6 months old and it moved the pins in the leg). Thoughts and prayers are with you this afternoon, Emmitt!

Simone – Helped May 2017

This photo was emailed to us today for helping Simone here with leg surgery last week, along with this nice note: “Thank you so much for helping me fix my puppy’s leg. I appreciate it and we are forever grateful from the bottom of our hearts!” She was also spayed at the time of surgery and received some help from one of our wonderful partners, Forsyth Humane Society!

Bella – Helped May 2017

This is Bella. Her mom is so happy to be able to spend Mother’s Day with her. Bella’s not out of the woods yet, but she had (the vets think) was an allergic reaction of some sort to medicine she was on, Ivermectin. This is a common prescription for skin issues, but if it wasn’t the medicine then its unknown why Bella had muscle tremors, couldn’t stand, was disoriented and very lethargic. We were able to pay for an after-hours emergency visit for fluids and follow up care the next day with her regular vet. Mom says she is playing and doing so much better, but she still...

Isaac – Helped May 2017

Meet Isaac. He had glaucoma and the pressure in his eye was very painful. Instead of an eye enucleation surgery, we worked with one of our vet partners, Oldtown Veterinary Hospital, for a specialized but much less expensive Gentamicin Injection. Under sedation, this procedure kills the cells, reducing the fluid and pressure so the eyelids can still function. Isaac came through the procedure...
