Who We’ve Helped

Here are some of the hundreds of pets who have been helped by The Sergei Foundation. We try to post pets and their stories when we can get photos from the owners or the vets who treat them.

Buttercup – Helped Sept. 2017

What a face! Does that say “good to be home” or what?!? We helped Buttercup with ICU expenses this weekend from what appeared to be ingestion of a toxic substance. She was having seuzures, panting heavily, and had muscle tremors. Her calcium and blood pressure dropped dangerously low. Kept in 24/7 care for a couple of days, Buttercup was able to come home last night. The vet is still worried about her blood pressure, and the owner has to keep careful watch on her until she can schedule a a check up during the week. Here’s hoping that’s what it was and that there is no...

Bella – Helped Aug. 2017

Bella here was having what seemed to be neurological issues, and the vet thought it may be GME, inflamatory disease of the central nervous system. To help the owner, we suggested a second opinion and some basic Xrays to rule out something disc-related first and to try conservative treatment as the owner couldn’t afford the MRI (which is one diagnostic too $$ for us as well). So far no evidence of disc/spine issues, but Bella was put on antibiotics to help if it were meningitis, as she was improving a bit on Prednisone. We hope that this gives her body the right push to heal!...

Persia – Helped Aug. 2017

Persia’s uterus burst as a result of a deadly infection, pyometra. Thankfully, she was already at the vet about to go into surgery, so she was able to recover from that emergency! We are happy to have assisted some with that expense, but we waited a few days to post about her recovery as she had to stay in the hospital a few days afterwards. Remember, spay your pets; It saves lives in more ways than one!

Kola – Helped Aug. 2017

THIS is what rope toys can do if they are ingested. Share so that others know to pick up toys unless playtime can be supervised. The first picture is him going home with his owner on Saturday after we assisted with ER surgery. The second picture is what was removed from Kola’s intestines. He isn’t out of the woods yet, as the vet had to surgically remove and suture 6 areas of his colon/intestines. Time will tell. Please share and maybe you will save a pet’s life. (Side note… same for cats and yarn. Just don’t do it!). Thank you so much Creekside Animal...

Onix – Helped July 2017

Onix here would have died without our assistance and the veterinary partnership of Northwood Animal Hospital as the owner wouldn’t have otherwise been able to take her to the vet in time. She was shaken by the head by the family hound dog when she tried to drink out of his water bowl! We were able to assist, thankfully, with only general veterinary funds to clean her wounds and reduce her 104 fever with some pain meds and...
