About & Board Info

The Sergei Foundation was founded as a North Carolina 501(c)(3) organization in 2009 to meet the unanswered need and demand for sick and injured companion pet care. Karen Fullerton founded the organization after the necessary euthanasia of her dog, Sergei, a Siberian husky who is the namesake and part of the organization's logo. Her sense of guilt when Sergei had to be euthanized, even after having a long life with him, led her to a sad realization that other pet owners must feel even worse when they can't save their pets from lack of financial resources.

Its mission is to save companion pets' lives by providing veterinary financial aid to families unable to afford emergency, life-saving care... "Because They're Family!" Please visit our application page  for details and parameters for assistance.  Based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, The Sergei Foundation, Inc. first assists residents of North Carolina but will also assist applicants from other states if funds are available.
