Harry – Helped Sept. 2017

Harry here is a 13-year-old Maltese. He had a growth on his foot that inhibited his ability to walk correctly, and he had some sores on his head that would not heal. The vet thought the sores on the head did not look like cancer (size, shape, etc.), and didn’t want necrotic tissue to set in from their inability to heal. We were able to help remove those areas on his head and toward two toe amputations. Happy healing, Harry!

Amadeus – Helped Sept. 2017

Remember Amadeus? We helped towards some X-rays last month, which showed negative for any bone injury. After the owner paid for other tests, the vet diagnosed cancer. We are unable to fund for cancer treatments that are on-going. However, the vet recommended an amputation before it spread, as chest X-rays looked good at this point. We were able to fund for this surgery from an anonymous donor! At 2-years young, the outlook is very good for Amadeus both in terms of adjusting to three legs and for his full...

Buttercup – Helped Sept. 2017

What a face! Does that say “good to be home” or what?!? We helped Buttercup with ICU expenses this weekend from what appeared to be ingestion of a toxic substance. She was having seuzures, panting heavily, and had muscle tremors. Her calcium and blood pressure dropped dangerously low. Kept in 24/7 care for a couple of days, Buttercup was able to come home last night. The vet is still worried about her blood pressure, and the owner has to keep careful watch on her until she can schedule a a check up during the week. Here’s hoping that’s what it was and that there is no...

Bella – Helped Aug. 2017

Bella here was having what seemed to be neurological issues, and the vet thought it may be GME, inflamatory disease of the central nervous system. To help the owner, we suggested a second opinion and some basic Xrays to rule out something disc-related first and to try conservative treatment as the owner couldn’t afford the MRI (which is one diagnostic too $$ for us as well). So far no evidence of disc/spine issues, but Bella was put on antibiotics to help if it were meningitis, as she was improving a bit on Prednisone. We hope that this gives her body the right push to heal!...
