Junior could not urinate. The vet had tried catheters with no long-term success, so we helped Junior with cystotomy surgery to remove two large stones, several smaller stones, and to flush out the bladder thoroughly. Junior is now urinating on his own without a catheter!

Simba – Helped August 2016

This is Simba. Miraculously, he was released today to his new owner from a long week of treatment for the often deadly disease of distemper. We were able to aid some from our discretionary fund – a fund used to help in life-threatening situations when it falls outside of our normal parameters.That said, we are running very low on these designated funds! It is only 3% of our annual budget. Won’t you please consider donating to help us replenish? As little a $5/$10 a month can be taken out automatically each month, or whatever your heart calls to do.

This is Bagheera. The owner took her (responsibly!) to the after hours vet over the weekend for her broken leg. The Sergei Foundation was able to get a second opinion on the Xrays, and it appears surgery can be avoided! She is going to in tonight for a splint change and to verify the break will heal on its own with proper care and changing. We’ll keep you posted. Cocoa – Helped August 2016

This is Cocoa. She was very lethargic, throwing up and in “poor shape” according to the vet. The Sergei Foundation assisted with X-rays – which ruled out a blockage – and blood work. Those levels were a bit all of the place. Not knowing a concrete diagnosis, fluids were administered to see how Cocoa responded. The good news is that seemed to work, and the owner reports Cocoa is almost back to normal! Thank you Northwood Animal Hospital for your help on this...
