Blitz – Helped May 2016

We helped Blitz here last week with contribution towards a second ACL surgery. He had the first one, but the second was not giving out. Oreo – Helped May 2016

This is Oreo. The owner was scheduled to put her down today at 8:30 a.m. because of a deadly infection of the Uterus called Pyometra, and she couldn’t afford the surgery. By chance, I was talking to one of our vet partners about 8:30 p.m. last night and he referred her to us resulting in our assistance. Oreo had surgery this morning at that scheduled appointment instead of her having to say goodbye! So far she is doing very well in recovery. What a happy ending 🙂

He had exploratory surgery around midnight that showed his large bowel was inflamed, and his small bowel was distended. They drained at least 1 liter of fluid and diarrhea from the twist in the small intestines! This was a really tough case in terms of diagnosis and even what the treatment plan should be on our funding limit and the owner’s Care Credit limit as well… but thankfully Bronx is home recovering now.
