Dixie – Helped March 2016

We are helping Dixie here get surgery tomorrow morning to fix/pin her broken leg. (She looks like the dog Gracie we helped last year… same issue too!) Dixie’s injury happened on Sunday when a truck backed out over her (unknowingly). Five days is a long time to wait for surgery of this severity, but we just started working with them yesterday. Dixie has been in loving care with her human “sister” and on pain meds. Thank you to Banfield Foundation for your support so we can give pets like Dixie a chance to say with their family. Please send Dixie love, healing and...

Weasleby – Helped March 2016

We helped Weasleby here get exploratory GI surgery as the vet was sure there was a blockage after an Xray showed his intestines were moved to one side (and he was vomiting and not going to the bathroom). However, after opening him up, they didn’t see evidence and closed him again. He should go home tomorrow and will be re-evaluated. Hopefully he will improve with meds and rest; otherwise, an ultrasound will be performed and diagnosis starts at square one 🙁 Hoping you are okay Weasleby! We’ll keep you posted.

Gizmo – Helped March 2016

Gizmo here got hit (or clipped) by a moving car last week.  THANKFULLY all that resulted was a fracture that will heal on its own with rest and confinement. The Sergei Foundation is happy to have helped get this little guy Xrays and pain medicine.  Quick healing, Gizmo.

Coco – Helped March 2016

This is Coco being wheeled into surgery last Friday. This 10-year old girl could not walk; both of her hind legs were affected by a ruptured disc, impairing the neurological function for her brain to communicate with her legs. We are proud to have partnered some with The Mosby Foundation in Virginia on this case. Collaboration is sometimes the only way to receive enough aid to help in these very expensive procedures to give some pets a fighting chance at life! Coco is still in the hospital and is able to support herself on her front legs with the assistance of hospital staff supporting her...

Nora – Helped March 2016

This is Nora! She is still recovering from shoulder surgery done yesterday to repair a lesion of the cartilage and bone due to necrosis and loss of use of the underlying bone (called OCD Lesion). This is more common in large breeds who grow “too quickly” (Nora is a 10-month-old Mastiff and is already 120 lbs). She also got spayed at the same time; a requirement of our funding. Happy healing girl! Just have to say, I love the Meghan Trainor song… “All about that bass” – since we’re talking about big boned pups!
