Genevieve – Helped Feb. 2016

This is Genevieve, her mom took her to the ER vet today because a family dog had lashed out and broken her jaw. She has an 11am appointment tomorrow with Dr. Hedrick to examine and review the x-rays. We hope he can perform the required upper jaw surgery (a more difficult procedure than a lower jaw) within our grant range. We will know more tomorrow after her exam at 11am. She has been reported as eating soft food, which is a good sign. Update 3/2/16: Genevieve is home! Instead of major repair surgery, the vet was able to sedate her and align her jaw more properly so it could heal on its own...

Austin – Helped Feb. 2016

Austin was admitted for an ER situation tonight, the vet at North Davidson is staying late to possibly do surgery. He may have an intestinal blockage (hasn’t excreted in 4 days and in a lot of pain/fever). The owner thinks he may have chewed on a plastic hanger and swallowed. We hope the bowel isn’t perforated; it has been a few days since this happened. Please send light, energy, prayers, etc. his way. It may be a long night. Austin here was a rescue dog the owner welcomed to his home last summer from Davidson County Animal Shelter.

Dee – Helped Feb. 2016

Dee is in an oxygen tent right now. We are not yet sure of diagnosis, but she had been breathing through her mouth….definite sign of an emergency for a cat! So far she seems stable. Happy we can assist! A shout out to a wonderful volunteer at a local vet who went to pick up this kitty because the owner had no transportation. Update: ¬†The vet found not fluids on the lungs, and he thinks it may be feline asthma. The owner will need to continue meds/steroids.

Little Cat – Helped Feb. 2016

This is “Little Cat.” We assisted with her eye enucleation last Friday after medical regimens vet care the owner had been following since October had not been working to clear up the infection/issues with her eye. This is a photo from her owner… she reports all is well except she is not loving the e-collar (what cat does?!?).

Juno – Helped Feb. 2016

This cutie, Juno, is going in for surgery tomorrow to pin a broken femur (top of the back leg). He should be fine… at just six months he is sure to heal quickly. But thoughts and prayers are always welcome as it is emergency surgery! Juno is also getting neutered at the same time
