Bentley – Helped Nov. 2015

Partnering with The Mosby Foundation, we were able to contribute to Bentley’s salivary gland surgery last week (you can see the bulge on his neck in this pic). Initial tests several months back were negative for cancer, but the vet sad the surgery was a bit “messy” so the owner is paying for a histogram for final determination. Surgery did go very well though!

We helped Mylo here get some blood work to help diagnose his symptoms of vomiting and losing weight. Blood work came back good! The vet thought it was a food allergy. We do not assist with food, but the owner is so thankful that she knows the root cause now and can budget to put him on Rx food.

We have been helping a lot of cats recently. Meet Colin! He is young… barely 2 years old, and needed life-saving surgery (called Perineal Urethostomy) to surgically create a permanent, wider urethra opening. After several catheterizations, he still could not urinate and would have needed to be put down if surgery could not be performed immediately. The owner is developmentally disabled and living in an area home; a care-taker is the one who helped to find us! Colin had surgery yesterday and is waiting to go home today.

Bella here had skin sores. It wasn’t flea-related, so the vet said most likely is allergy-related. We were able to help her get to a vet and some initial meds via our general vet fund. Happy healing, Bella girl!
