We were able to assist with Rojo’s surgery on Saturday to remove a corn cob from his intestine! All seems like the surgery was a success so far; we’ll keep you posted. Such a little guy for a corn cob, wow!

Angel-Sky – Helped June 2015

This is Angel-Sky. She is currently on her third day of IV fluids and meds as she developed sepsis…a serious blood/immune disease from fighting bacteria.  It may have been a result of her first parvo/distemper vaccination just a day before, although cause cannot be known for sure as she did test negative for parvo. This lil’ girl was in critical condition and, to be honest, we almost did not continue funding as prognosis of recovery was quite grim. Satch – Helped June 2015

Satch had eye surgery as the only alternative to an eye disease called Uveitis. He was in such pain and had to lose the eye because of severe tissue damage, but the owner reported (with this photo) that Satch is doing very well and lovingly chasing their pet rabbits again! Good to hear… animals are so resilient; they set an example that we humans can certainly learn from. Happy healing, Satch.

Sassy – Helped June 2015

Sassy is a hero! She is a service dog for Gabriel, a nine-year old boy. She pushed him out of the way from a car heading towards their driveway where the two of them were playing. She knocked him safely away but Sassy got hit. Her left arm broke in two places and needed pins and the external brace. Unknown injuries are to the left hip and possibly her lower back, but she went home yesterday!  Gabriel is happy to have his “better half” with him again, as he lovingly refers to her.
