Silver – Helped May 2015

Here is Silver after his femur (leg break) surgery. He was also neutered, thanks to Forsyth Humane Society! He’s doing well and able to go home today to his companion family to be loved on. Silver got hit by a car – one of the most common of ER situations. Please take the moment to walk out with your dog on leash, even to do even do his/her business – it could save a life!

Starky – Helped May 2015

We helped Starky get his eye lens removed today. It was fully detached from the cornea and very painful. Eye removal was an option, but the owner chose to supplement for this surgery as the other eye most likely will do the same thing; it is already showing signs. This way, Starky still will have some vision in that eye for if the other one needs to be removed at a later date. Unfortunately, this is a common issue in terrier breeds. Quick healing, Starky!

Peach – Helped May 2015

“Peach” is having surgery today. We cannot show you pictures of her back legs as they are too graphic under those bandages. One leg has to be amputated as it is totally de-gloved (nothing… no muscle, tendons… right to the bone) and very badly infected. The other leg is also injured badly, but the vet is hoping to suture it and hopefully will be okay.  She is a Collie mix not even a year old.  That is good that she should adjust to three legs very well/quickly. We just hope she will recover well with the other leg and from the infections.
